Ostim Technical University

In accordance with the objective to become the “University of Industry”, OSTİM Technical University aims to produce graduates who put their scientific and technological knowledge to practical use. We will achieve this goal by working in close collaboration with the business world, industrialists and the public sector. We aim to play an active role in industrial and financial spheres that we prioritize, especially through the appropriation of cutting-edge technologies and the use of effective entrepreneurship models to be supported by application infrastructure and equipment.

Our university has defined the training of qualified professionals for Turkey’s future as its guiding principle. In line with this core principle, we will put forth the greatest possible effort to ensure that our graduates are endowed with the knowledge and skills demanded by the competitive business world. We expect them to have a broad vision as self-directed learners making an active use of hands-on training, individuals who ask and seek answers, generate creative ideas, make innovative designs and produce what they have designed. Their entrepreneurial spirit, ability to work with a team and to take responsibility, as well as their determination to gain professional competence will be augmented by high cultural awareness and internalized humanitarian values that will lead to their becoming beneficial members of the society.

OSTIM Technical University is a “third generation” university. While the “second generation” university focused on more scientific research and education due to the effects of the division of labor revolution which took place in the wake of the 18th century, it was left to companies to transform the developed knowledge into practice and production. This situation caused a decrease in university-company cooperation, thereby deepening the gap between them. The “third generation” or “entrepreneurial university” opts for an approach that aims at the removal of these rigid walls for the benefit of society and places the university at the center of the production and innovation process together with companies.

In our era, “education” can’t afford to become complacent about the theoretical training of students alone, so it aims to enhance the capacity of both students and academicians to develop patents, utility models, industrial designs, brands as maintained by university-industry cooperation, to make innovations, and to make economic contribution through entrepreneurship and commercialization. With a view to fulfilling our goals, we will carry out our scientific and technological studies in coordination with the industry in a way that will make a further contribution to our country’s economy in accordance with the concept of “Entrepreneurial University”. We will work for the development of our region and our country by developing original projects and solutions, devising the necessary mechanisms to enable the application and commercialization of the knowledge produced by our strong academic staff, and we will race to become one of the distinguished universities in the world.
I wish success to our students, academic and administrative staff.
